Remote Troubleshooting: What to Do if Your Remote Isn’t WorkingUpdated 25 days ago
Having issues with your Evolve remote? Whether it won’t connect, power on, or is physically damaged, this guide will walk you through exactly what to do next — including when to send it in.
1. First, Confirm Which Remote You’re Using
Before anything, we need to confirm your remote model:
Phaze Remote
R2 Bluetooth Remote
R2 Wi-Fi Remote
Even if you mention your board (e.g. GT, GTX, GTR1), don’t worry — we’ll still double-check which remote you’ve got. Many customers upgrade their remotes over time, so we don’t want to make assumptions.
2. Still Using an R2 Remote?
If you’re using an R2 (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi), we no longer offer repairs for these remotes. The Phaze is our latest model and a major upgrade in performance and durability.
✅ We recommend upgrading:
3. If Your Remote Is Brand New and Faulty
If you just received your remote and it’s not working out of the box, don’t stress.
✅ Please fill out this form instead of a repair request:
We’ll arrange a replacement while your return is in progress.
4. What Kind of Issue Are You Having?
Let’s figure out the right path:
🛠 These usually don’t require sending your remote in:
Can’t connect to the board
Can’t connect to the app
Can’t change modes (unless caused by a broken trigger)
We’ll troubleshoot these with you.
📦 These do require sending your remote to us for inspection:
Remote won’t turn on
Broken screen, housing, or buttons
Remote won’t charge or loses power after unplugging
Remote won’t accelerate or brake
Can’t change modes due to trigger failure
Trigger is loose
Remote won’t calibrate or is stuck in Safe Mode
Remote splitting apart
Request for replacement parts like screen, housing, etc.
5. Next Steps If It Needs to Be Sent In
If your remote does need to be sent in, please complete the following form:
