Diablo Carbon - Reduced RangeUpdated 25 days ago

Factors that shorten range

Many elements affect how far your board travels on a single charge: riding style, terrain, environment, air temperature, battery age, tire pressure, and rider weight. If range drops sharply and none of these seem to apply, move on to the checks below.

Ambient temperature

  • Lithium-ion batteries give their best performance at about 77 °F (our advertised range is based on this figure).

  • At 50 °F, expect roughly 25 % less power.

  • At 32 °F, the loss can reach 50 %.

  • Riding in weather below 59 °F will usually cut range noticeably.

Tire pressure – the most common cause

  • Check all-terrain tires often.

  • Recommended pressure sits between 40 – 50 psi.

  • Anything around 20 psi or lower can more than halve range because rolling resistance rises sharply.

Other steps to rule out a board fault

  1. Recalibrate the Battery Management System (BMS)

    • Ride until the board shuts down completely (blue power light off).

    • Charge straight to full in one session until the charger light turns green.

    • Repeat the full-discharge / full-charge cycle twice to reset the BMS.

  2. Still seeing poor range or uneven battery percentage drops
